  • The program includes a weekly online session through February and March, followed by…

  • A 10-day road trip kayaking, mountain biking, and hiking in the Southeastern U.S. This will take place over April Break, leaving the Thursday before school gets out.

  • After April break you will conclude the program by spending at least eight hours mentoring middle school aged students in your community in the outdoor activities you’ve learned.

  •  Completion of the training earns you a certification from OSI in Community Outdoor Mentorship, showing you’ve earned a special skill set that makes you a more powerful asset in your community.

About OSI

The mission of OSI is to strengthen communities through outdoor sport, and explore outdoor sport through community. We believe outdoor sports such as biking, paddling, skiing, and hiking can foster personal skills we all need to improve like self-confidence, resilience, discipline, humor, risk management, judgment, and decision making. We believe everyone in a community has the ability to be a positive mentor to others, and we want to help you build that ability in yourself.
