Overview
The clinics, workshops, and other trainings we run in our Community Coaches Network are open to everyone regardless of experience. Our goal is to help you facilitate the best outdoor sport experience possible for those that you work with, young or old.
This clinic will focus on cross-country skiing, and in particular, the classic technique (sometimes called “traditional” or “diagonal stride”) as well as the skate technique (also called “freestyle”). We will be sharing skill progressions, technique tips, games, and other information to help you feel more comfortable in working with others on this fantastic sport. Trainings with OSI are extremely interactive and combine everything from classroom presentations, to video feedback, to interactive games and practice. Come prepared to participate fully and have fun.

The Outdoor Sport Institute
The mission of OSI is to strengthen communities through outdoor sport, and explore outdoor sport through community. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization.
We seek to:
Build a community’s capacity to envision and create an active, outdoor culture
Build capacity of teens and adults to serve as outdoor sport mentors & leaders where they live
Foster intergenerational relationships within the community through outdoor sport
Use outdoor sport to teach skills that foster self-determination including but not limited to self-efficacy, self-confidence, resilience, discipline, risk management, judgment, and decision making.
OSI helps communities create, improve, and increase access to outdoor sport programs, equipment, trails, and local leadership through training, resources, and a network of peer-to-peer learning.
